Frame for Salisbury portrait of Caroline Graham Slaughter Coe. In Louis XV style, carved wood ornament. Has ogee profile with cut through ornament, outer band of egg and leaf, scrolling foliate design on ogee, with scallop corners, a sand texture gesso and inner foliate band. Finished in gold leaf with red bole.

Examined by Eric Price in 1986 - he noted the frame has a grime layer, the finish has been intentionally abraded with small wooden losses, there's scattered gesso losses, and gesso is actively flaking along front edge.
