An antique leather style oversize mock book. Red with gold detailing. Hinge at spine indicating the books storage compartment. Purchased by Planting Fields Foundation during the rehabilitation of Mr. Coe's bedroom to replicate the oversize books he had on the various gate-leg tables he had in his bedroom. Mr. Coe was an avid reader who had the most comprehensive collection of Americana rare books and manuscripts in the country during the 1920s. He bequethed his original collection to Yale University after his death in 1955.Collection
