Description

A lithograph of Henry Hope Esquire of Amsterdam engraved by artist Hodge, and printed by the notable Sir Joshua Reynalds. Henry Hope was a prominent merchant banker born in Britain's Massachusett's Bay Colony Area, Boston. The protrait depicts Hope seated to the left with his left arm leaning on a desk, with Turkish carpet and right hand holding a quill pen. Landscape through window in background. This is one of the copies of this engraving, with the original in collections storage at the British Museum.
