Description

Late Gothic carved oak-paneled chest, the lift top having four linen-fold panels, the body front having four inticately carved panels, in high Gothic tracery, each of the four panels having Gothic arch, with deeply carved, pierced, foliate trim, the interior of the arch, with less prominently carved Gothic tracery, each panel separated with a rope-twist-carved half pilasters, the four panels centered by a plain panel, surmounted with ornately carved plaque, centered by wrought iron box lock, two of the four corners of the lock with wrought iron "bosses" (2 are missing); the sides of the chest, having two panels, with carved Gothic tracery, applied, straight molded-edge base.
