Description

Tabriz palace-size carpet, especially fine design and execution, having an overall stylized feraghan design on a cream colored central medallion, set on a dark blue larger medallion, centered on a cream colored field. The foliate and floral design over the entire central field with corner spandrels of red and blue, also with floral design. The whole with eight-border surround, including narrow running vine borders alternating with medium width and wider width "herati" and vine-filled borders, the vegetable colors including dark and medium blue, cream-ivory, medium scarlet reds, saffron yellow, pistacchio green.
