Description

Solid oak chair, no cushion. Solid back of chair with two additional side pieces where the armrests are fixed. Armrests curve toward front and end with simple carved 3-finger paw design. Back legs straight, front legs have carved bevel 2.5" from bottom. H-stretchered base. Carved depression in center of seat. Carved "N3008 / 67 / A16 / 1999" under seat. A picture of this chair, or one similar to it, appears in the photo album of the Cherokee Plantation. Mate to this chair, with same cushion, was in Miss Pettet's apartment in Carriage House.
