Description

Tall paneled back settle with scaled uprights, crested with grotesque masks. The cresting rail with central shell ornament flanked by reclining mermaids over six panels carved with fishing scene, grotesque mer-animals, sea monsters, and mermaids. The open scrolled arms resting on turned members; hinged box seat paneled in the front with three panels of diamond shaped devices and leaf ornaments. All enclosed by framework of thumbnail flutes.
