A William and Mary style oak two-panel blanket chest, probably of late 19th Century construction with old 18th Century wood, reassembled, having a molded straight-edge top over a case with low relief carved wave and scroll design, over two recessed octagonal panels, with checkboard inlaid side stiles and medial band, over two recessed panel drawers, with Queen Anne type escutcheons, and drop pulls, supported on turned turnip feet.
Most hardware is antique, c. 18th Century, but not original to the piece, since the piece is about 100 years old and refinished.Collection
