[J4] Rectangular panel depicting a kneeling knight, with his hands raised up to his chest in prayer. He is turned to the left. Head and limbs are made of white glass with painted details. He wears armor and head protection, and over his body is a tunic decorated with what seems to be heraldry symbols, in red, orange and blue. The orange and blue stripes match the heraldry shield in the top right corner. The background is made of blue and red glass, and to the right below the shield is a Star of David with a Tudor Rose in its center.Cataloged By

Head and armor glass appear to be from the 15th Century, though from two separate panels. The hands are modern replacements.
10/2003 Brooklyn Stained Glass Conservation Center recommended removing backplate, cleaning surface of glass, and installing more suitable protective glazing.Reason for Exam

Notes
Purchased in 1921 from Grosvenor Thomas for 350 pounds, listed as "panel of English glass, kneeling knight, 15th Century"General Notes
Note
Notes: Listed in Corpus Vitrearum checklist. The armories transcribed "Barry argent and or (tunic), the same arms quartered 1 and 4 with 2 and 3 gules three escallops argent."
The hexagram was added as an ornament.
The shells (on tunic) were a common feature in heraldry, and sometimes associated with the pilgrimmage to St. James of Compostela.
