Notes

In June 1986 Peter Arkell strengthened and stablized chair frame, trying to preserve 1920s finish as much as possible. Then George Rohleder, of Plaza Interiors, NYC, preserved as much of cake as possible, discarded rotting sections of cake with cotton batting and in reinforcing the existing cakes, softened the line of the chair seat and shield back. Lorraine Gilligan purchased the French silk damask July 30, 1986.
