English carved oak side chair. Has curved crest with acornish finials at either end. Back rest consists of five baluster spindles on top half, open bottom half. Straight turned blocked legs, straight rear legs, two parallel front stretchers, trumpet-turned. Has removeable beige seat cushion. Has two labels on base that read: Barn and 74 respectively. Also reads 18/01 in chalk. See 1955.004.002, .003, and .004.
Lorraine Gilligan note has stated that the piece is, "Probably in the original William Robertson Coe Estate. A pair of chairs similar to these appear in Miss Pettet's photographs of the Coe Foundation penthouse in New York City, NY.Collection
