Gadrooned base molding supported on animal paw feet. Appraisal Joanna Badami, 4/3/2004, page 29. Baroque Style Cassone, partly 17th Cnetury, having a straight, molded edge lift top, with interior candle box compartment, the front with foliate carved panel with stylized gadrooned edge surround. Flanked on each side by half-round carved caryatids, plain side panels, all above deeply molded gadroon carved molding surround. The whole set on carved animal paw feet. 20th Century Reproduction Incorporating Old Parts to Fabricate the 17th Century Style.
