Surface

Gilding is flaking in some areas, lots of surface damage. Unclear if some damage was caused by environmental issues (heat and humidity fluctuations) or physical force.

Notes

During Netflix The Diplomat film shoot prep, crew member carried a prop bed frame through the Main Staircase Hallway. The bed frame knocked into the niche. Not clear if it bumped the upper left corner or other area. Cherub (?) face was knocked off. Piece appears to previously have been glued on, this is likely not the first instance of damage.
