Myslive began painting while he worked at Inland Steel; his early work focused on the mill machinery and employees. After losing his left arm in a mill accident, Myslive received formal art training as a rehabilitation effort and shifted his focus toward painting the dunes. He only painted during the fall and winter because he preferred to spend the spring and summer outside with his family.Acquisition
