Description

Doll with brown hair wearing blue-and-white striped dress, white petticoat, white pantaloons, white stockings, and white shoes. Manufactured by the Kestner Doll Company in Waltershausen, Germany, in the early 1900s, this Model 154 doll is made of bisque porcelain and kid leather. Significant work has been done to preserve the doll, as evidenced by its patches, pins, and shoes that don't match its manufacturing era. Doll is tied with a pink ribbon to a red chair that has accompanied the doll for years.

Context

Doll was given to Valparaiso resident Litha Ballenger for her birthday.
