No. 1 On the other side of the river as the road approaches the house it winds down a hill and comes close to the river. Just at the foot of this hill there is a view of a pretty landscape with the river for a foreground. The wooded meadow making the principal part of the landscape lies east of our house and is part of the property. Note the roots of the trees laid bare by the action of water during freshets.
