Newspaper articles about shows at the Heffron Tavern at 9606 Akron Ave, town of Belmont, Wisconsin. The tavern was owned by Frank and Nancy Nowak until Mark Nowak, their son, bought the tavern in 1990. The first Jamfest, later known also as Rock On Heffron, was held in the tavern garage with about 100 attendees in late summer. It quickly grew from there with Mark's sisters, Susan Spice and Nicole Odegaard helping with the many parts of hosting a rock festival. Susan and Nicole both passed in early 2003 but Mark kept running Jamfest / Rock On Heffron in their memory. Camping was available for concert attendees and crowds of over 1,500 were common at this event. The last newspaper article that covered Jamfest / Rock On Heffron was from 2005, and in 2013 a news article mentioned a new concert at the tavern, Sounds From The Sticks. Mark Nowak held many music events at the Heffron Tavern, including a blues festival in 1996, cabin fever concerts in early spring, and Early Jam Fest in late spring.Created By
