Description

Beaded bag or purse. Likely Mohawk from Ontario, Quebec or New York, 1840-1860. Black velvet base, red trim around edge, floral beaded pattern and drawstring. There is green trim at the top. Under flap "Hills" paper label Ports Historical Society. Paper inside tied up. The paper says "clock" on the outside and a piece of wood is on the inside. Source is Lois A. Hills. Gift was most likely in the 1920's.
