U.S. Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal presented to Justin Downing Hartford Jr. on the front is an image of a man dressed in a civil war uniform next to a canon. Behind him is an anchor with a a chain circling the image. on either side reads, " UNITED STATES / MARINE CORPS." A banner below reads, " SEMPER FIDELIS." The bar on top reads, "U.S. MARINE CORPS" with a rope boarder. The medal is attached to a rifle at the top.
