Sampler made by Comfort Whidden (1807-1894). Linen ground with likely linen thread stitching. Techniques used include cross stitch and eyelet embroidery. Colors are faded, but a dark green and black are visible. Motifs include trees, upper and lowercase alphabets, geometric patterns and designs, and a fruit basket.
