Description

Pitcher regarding the Battle of Moscow 1812. Depicted on one side is an image of a Russian soldier attacking a French soldier with an axe with writing along the bottom saying, "Specimen of RUSSIAN Chopping BLOCKS". The other side shows a Russian soldier carrying slain French soldiers on his bayonet with writing along the bottom saying, "A RUSSIAN BOOR returning from his FIELD SPORTS." Matches shards found in Portwalk excavations.
