Description

Liverpool-style pitcher, made of creamware for the American market. One side features a vignette of the funeral of Washington with the caption "Washington in glory, America in tears" and the other "Merchant and Taylor arms" Below the spout there is an eagle with thirteen stars,and the inscription "E Pluribus Unum" Additionally there are the initials in script of Samuel and Elizabeth Lord, grandparents of the donor and collector: "S&E L."
