Small commemorative pitcher honoring John Paul Jones; a bulbous form with speckled lustreware body in purple, with short spout opposite applied S-scroll handle, with molded ring foot; inscribed on one side "THE FIRST ADMIRAL OF THE" and on the other "AMERICAN NAVY" ; with image of John Paul Jones in a medallion with legend "COMMODORE JOHN PAUL JONES" below. Mark and handwritten inscription "747 / 15 Old Castle Made in England" in black on underside of bottom
