Soft paste porcelain, china for export, 1750-1780 Large plate with slightly raised border and shallow center; border painted with six varying floral scenes and center of plate with scene depicting two birds, one standing and one perched on a branch, in a landscape; bottom of plate unglazed. Inscriptions: modern paper label glued to underside of bottom with handwritten note: "Wendell House Portsmouth NH"
