Description

Pink hat, Lily Beyer, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, 2017. Arranmore yarn; H. 8 in., W. 10 1/4 in. Artist's statement: "This hat was made by Lily Beyer, a local knitter and engineer. Lily has been a knitter for 20 years, and has extensive experience with knitting a variety of garments and accessories. It is made of Arranmore yarn from the Fiber Company in colorway Slieve Sunset, purchased at Spinning Yarns in Dover, NH. It was knitted in the round with a garter stitch hem and stockinet stitch body, and bound off at the crown with a three needle bind off. Additional stitching was added to form the ears. Lily wore the hat at the Women's March in Washington, DC, which she attended with her family."
