Miniature of John Langdon, painted by Edith Dean Weir, in New Haven, 1899. Copy of portrait painted by J. Trumbull, Philadelphia 1792. Oval in shape, in gold tone metal frame with loop on the top. Weir (later Perry) was the daughter of John Ferguson Weir (1841-1926), the head of the School of Fine Arts at Yale, and painted the miniature during her education there. She went on to be a prolific painter of miniatures and author of books on several topics. Married James DeWolf Perry,
