A gray scale sketch of the Portsmouth Pound with the artists initials on the bottom right corner reading EW. M. The sketch is mounted on cardstock and has a writing below that reads;
"The Pound stood at the junction of Middle Road and South St. on the way / from Portsmouth to the Plains. The Pound was standing when the writer was a / boy, but it was not then in as good preservation as shown in this sketch. / This sketch was made by Miss Elizabeth Whitridge Morison, probably / around 1880. Miss Morison lived in the Purcell-Lord House, where this / is hung Ralph May. (Miss Morison was the granddaughter of Samuel Lord.)"Made/Created
