Description

Scene of a Native American man spearing a fish with a woman seated beneath him on the left, and a white settler in backwoods clothing fishing with a fishing pole on the right with a wooden mill building behind him. In the center is a medallion with a landscape scene with a group in the foreground around a campfire. The medallion is surrounded with the motto: "In Truth is Our Trust/In Union Our Strength" and "NEW HAMPSHIRE" is below. Signed at lower right: "JOHN ANDREW" probably for John Andrew (1815-1875) Clipping on back is from Ballou's Pictorial 8, no. 22 (June 2, 1855) in which the print is illustrated and discussed in the context of a description of N.H.
