Description

Large rectangular pin cushion with four incurved sides, and with beaded adornment on each side providing documentation. Front has Smith coat of arms in a circle, featuring a diagonal banner with three diamond-shaped devices and with a stag head above and below, and surrounded by laurel leaves and motto "VINCIT IMOY [AMOR] PATRIA" (Love of Country) and with "Edwr Smith / 1771" below. Reverse has verse: "Defend, O Lord, this thy / Child with thy heavenly / grace that he may / continue thine for / Ever" with scroll work below. Jelly label in ink: "Tripp / PHS"
