Folder of Minutes, NEB-ASM Council, January 31, 1964- August 2, 1972 According to a note (carbon copy) dated May 24, 1961: "At the Spring meeting held at Wellesley College on Friday, May 5, 1961 it was voted unanimously to change the name of our branch from Northeast Branch, Society of American Bacteriologists, to Northeast Branch, American Society for Microbiology to conform to the name of the National Society."
