This icon representing the Tainaya Vechera or “Mystic Supper,” shows Christ at the center of a round table surrounded by his disciples. Judas is recognized as he reaches into a bowl on the table. He lacks a halo, as do the other apostles. The latter all gesture toward Christ, who has raised his hands in blessing. The presence of a curtain and an intricate architectural background indicate the scene takes place in the interior of a building.
