Name/Title
Cactus CupEntry/Object ID
1981.15.18Description
This freeform sculpture is made from clay and has a hand-built look to it. The top of the cup seems to be more equal and even as a cup would be, but the rest of the cactus looks handmade. The cactus seems similar to the silhouette of a human with its arms raised. There are arms sprouting from the sides of the cactus in the body. The base of the cactus goes into what a usual cactus would look like. The holes where the spikes would be prominent specifically at the bottom with the glaze in the ridges. The cactus seems to be covered in a spray-painted colored glaze or slip. It has a gradient from purple to pink in the body to a teal/light blue near the bottom and the arms.Type of Sculpture
