Lidded Box

Name/Title

Lidded Box

Entry/Object ID

1981.15.06

Description

This lidded vessel has more of an organic shape to it rather than being completely perfect. The lips of the rim are thinner than the rest of the body. The lid is think and the handle looks hand built. The glazing on this piece is abstract and has a slight pattern to it with the glaze reacting to itself. The body of the box appears to be hand built as well or more loosely made on the wheel. There are dark blue splotches on the speckled box. There are tinges of dark red, brown, blue and green. There are tiny feet at the bottom of the vase that have little knobs on top of the curling feet.
