“The Critics,” full title reads, “The Critics: It has been brought to our attention, hence we dare to postulate/ after due deliberation, that/ children’s art is great!” Gloeckler pays tribute, through poem and print, to the art of children, while simultaneously poking fun at art critics. This image uses visual symbols – birds, cat, sun, etc. -- appropriated from Gloeckler’s own children’s earliest drawings.
