Mayan Women Weaving Francisco Dos.amantes (1911-1986) lithograph, 1946 Francisco Dosamantes studied at Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas. Early in his career, he worked for the Secretaría de Educación Pública (Public Education Secretary) before moving into teaching art full-time. Along with many other members of the muralist movement, Dosamantes was a member of LEAR (Liga de Escritores y Artistas Revolucionarios), and a founding member of TGP [Taller de Gráfica Popular) His work; included engravings, paintings, murals, and book illustrations Dosamantes's thematic content often focused on indigenous and agricultural communities that he witnessed during his work for the Secretarla de Educación Pública, which in turn highlighted their exploitation and was distinctly anti-fascist. This work is part of his most famous series of lithographs, which feature scenes from the daily life of the Mayan community in Campeche, Mexico. Francisco Dosamantes estudio en la Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas. Temprano en su carrera, trabajó para la Secretaria de Educación Pública antes de dedicarse totalmente a la enseñanza de arte. Junto con muchos otros miembros del movimiento muralista, Dosamantes fue miembro de LEAR {Liga de Escritores y Artistas Revolucionarios}, y un miembro fundador TGP (Taller de Gráfica Popular) Su trabajo incluyó grabados, pinturas, murales, e ilustraciones de libros.
