"A former member of the art faculty at the University of Maryland, Krushenick exhibited nationally and internationally for more than twenty years. His work is represented in major collections all over the world. Studying in New York in the late 1940s and early 50s, Krushenick painted both at the Art Students‘ League and the Hans Hoffmann School at a time when Abstract Expressionism was first making its way into the public consciousness.
The present work reflects both the artist's formative years in abstract modernism and the step back from that art into the dispassionate ""cool"" of Pop Art. It has the energy of expressionist work and the bright, flat color and firm black outlines characteristic of Pop."
