"Castillo is a printmaker specializing in large etchings and linocuts. In addition to his education in Mexico, he has studied in Poland and France and exhibited in Canada, Cuba, Norway, Japan, Germany, Bulgaria, Italy and the Czech Republic. Castillo's provocative and emotional work is based in the traditions and aesthetics of “grotesque” art, which provokes discomfort and sometimes empathy for its subjects."
