This icon is etched into a silver riza in the repoussé technique and set into a wood frame. The engraving shows the Greek symbols for Christ (IC XC) in the two upper corners and Church Slavonic captions on either side of the central figure. Christ is shown with shoulder length hair, mustache, and cropped beard. He holds an open book with more Church Slavonic script in one hand and holds the other aloft in the blessing gesture. A tri symbol halo sits behind his head and the background of the frame features small diamond shapes throughout. The wood frame has triangle notches cut in each corner. The reverse side of the icon has a typed "certificate of export" written in both English and Greek describing the icon as an "original contemporary greek icon" and allowing its export from Greece.Collection
