Curtis M. Stocking (1914-1981) was a professor of Fine Arts at Purdue University from 1947 until the early 80’s. He recieved both his Bachelors and Masters of Fine Arts from Ohio State University. During his years at Purdue he became a celebrated educator, working with not only the Creative Arts department (now Visual and Performing Arts), but also with the Engineering and Agriculture schools, participating in many seminars dealing with creativity. He also did work as a consultant in creativity for the University of Illinois, the Pfizer Drug Corp., Standard Oil, the American Medical Association, and the Universities of Chicago and Buffalo. He was an accomplished painter, exhibiting nationwide in both private and public collections.
