Oil on wooden panel once backed in red velvet, largely covered by silver riza, secured with packing tape to black wooden frame with glass. The riza has square geometric details on the border with a Cyrillic caption in the bottom middle. The riza also makes up the diamond shaped pointed halos of Mother and Child, the floral robes of the Virgin, and the simplistic lineart of the Christ child's robes. The painting makes up the faces of Mother and Child and the blessing gesture with one of the Child's hands.Type of Painting

The Virgin’s bent pose is emphasized by a long arc in her drapery, contrasting with the straight folds of Christ’s tunic and cloak. The flesh parts of the figures are modeled with refinement, and their haloes are delicately engraved with a small chevron pattern and a border of zigzags in relief. The riza border of spirals and angular interlace nicely complements the image.
