"Roughly half of Duane Slick’s work concerns his project entitled “Coyote Looks Into His Mind.” As a Native American trickster spirit, Coyote is seen by Slick as a voice with the courage to address issues confronting the human community. Slick uses layers of images in his work to convey a feeling of time and space, thus making a visual representation of the process of discovery that he experiences as an artist."
