Description

An ambrotype is comprised of an underexposed glass negative placed against a dark background. The dark backing material creates a positive image. This image shows what looks like a family, with the wife to the left, children in the middle and father to the right. There is damage on the back of the glass which has left the right side of the image faded making the image of the father indiscernible looking at the photograph face on. On top of the glass the photographer added a gold frame around the image.
