Global Matrix: An International Print Exhibition from the Purdue University Galleries’ Florene H. Lonsford Collection Hosted by Purdue University Galleries, the Global Matrix exhibition series has, for the last two decades, presented our campus with contemporary works on paper by international artists from six continents and over 30 countries, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the U.K., France, Netherlands, Japan, Thailand, Argentina, South Africa, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Ukraine, Norway among others. Many of the works from past Global Matrix exhibits, such as the selections here, have been purchased by the Florence H. Lonsford Fund, a gift from the 1936 Purdue graduate who wished to “support the acquisition of art objects” by the university “to enrich individual interest in art.” Her generosity also made possible the placement of many of the sculptures that today reside outside Beering and Pao Halls. For more information go to: www.cla.purdue.edu/vpa/lonsford. The latest edition of the series, Global Matrix IV, is being exhibited from January 9, 2017 to February 18, 2017 in two of Purdue University Galleries’ locations: the Robert L. Ringel Gallery in Stewart Center, and the Fountain Gallery at 330 Min Street in downtown Lafayette You can get details about those venues at www.purdue.edu/galleries.
