Scope and Content

The sermon reflects on a pilgrimage to the grave of Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi and the rediscovery of a spiritual connection that had been neglected. Drawing on Hasidic interpretations of Parshat Tazria-Metzora, it explores how suffering (nega) can become delight (oneg) depending on how we perceive it, and how bringing hidden pain to the surface (motzi-ra) can create an opportunity for healing. Reconsider our wounds, attend to what is emerging within us, and remain open to the possibility that what feels like affliction may contain a blessing.
