Remembering and Forgetting Amalek: Parshat Tetzaveh 2026 February 27Entry/Object ID
rdi-2026.02.27Scope and Content
Rabbi Ingber influenced by his father who, at sports games, always rooted for other team in middle of home-team crowd. To be a Jew is to be inside and outside. To be too invested in only your team can be dangerous. Always being asked to choose sides. Many of us feel like we don't have a camp these days, don't belong anywhere. Nuanced positions not allowed. Testified at City Hall in favor of Buffer Bill. Protesters were there, everyone in uniform, teams. Commandment to remember Amalek, but blot memory out. Don't stay in permanent rage or you risk seeing the uniform first and soul second. Purim -- blur the distinction between Haman & Mordechai.Archive Details
