Rabbi Ingber relates the story of Rebecca and the discomfort of her pregnancy with twins, She seeks out why she was so miserable (Rashi saying that she goes to find the answers, while Maimonides says she prays about it) and is told that it is bigger than her pain--that she carries two nations within her. And as that Shabbat was the 80th anniversary of Kristallnacht, Rabbi INgber explains Kurtzer's views that types of antisemitism must be taken within different contexts. Bringing the two ideas together, Rabbi Ingber says that every story is unique, but their are generally larger stories behind them.Archive Details
