rdi-2018.10.05Scope and Content
Rabbi Ingber says that they are going to be discussing the basics for a few weeks, as they are back to the beginning of the Torah. The first "why" is what are Jews there to do and why did God create the earth and then Adam in his likeness. Different rabbis have argued about it. There are three parts of holiness -- space, time, and the people. But Rabbi Ingber says that it comes down to what Moshe Halbertal said that wherever holiness is discussed, so is surrender. That is, people have no control. To be Jewish, Rabbi Ingber says, is to affirm the holiness of every human being.Archive Details
