Scope and Content

Rabbi Ingber dedicates this sermon to his uncle who had recently passed. He speaks of how his uncle would go long periods without speaking and embrace silence. Rabbi Ingber also brings up the silence that had been present in the Me Too movement and how powerful it was when that long silence was broken. Within the Torah, he speaks of Noah and how God spoke to him, but Noah remained silent. He also discusses the word "ark" and how it also means "word." Finally he brings up the Shivah of his uncle and how the most meaningful part of it was someone who understood that the most powerful thing to do was remain silent and listen. He then challenges everyone to really listen.
