Sermon : Parshat Noach 2018 October 12Entry/Object ID
rdi.2018.10.12Scope and Content
For the second week of his "Holiness Project," Rabbi Ingber turns to the second "why" of holiness in space, as it relates to Noah's ark. He discusses Noah's name in detail and how it means "comfort," but in this case can also mean discomfort. Also, it is pointed out that he is a rather ambivalent character in that there was nothing special about him; and the only people he gave comfort to was his own family. In the ark, he was instructed to put a "mysterious" object--the Tzohar, which could have been either a window or a jewel that was intended to light the space. The sacred space is intended to be comforting, which Rabbi Ingber then compares to their possible new building down the street.Archive Details
