Rabbi Ingber begins by telling about the semi-silent retreat that he and others at Romemu had attended. He talks about how Rabbi Margles said they need a "with-ness" of what was in their minds. From the Torah, this brings up the story of the "spies"/scouts that were sent to see what the land of Israel looked like and whether they could enter it. And that 10 of them saw a place that could not be entered, but Caleb and Joshua had the withness to really see what could be accomplished and dissented. This is then related to the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots and how the queer folk there had the withness to stand up and change the world.
